Piyush Wadhera

Born in Amritsar in the Punjab state of India, Piyush grew up in New Delhi, where he had his first experiences of yoga with his maternal grandmother, who initated him into the family’s ritual traditions of Kaula (family devotion to Shiva).

During his student years in Punjab, he deepened his practice at the local Bihar School of Yoga. He also studied advanced meditation and tantric practices with various Indian masters.

Having come to Paris for a year of study abroad in 2006, he later settled here in 2009. He gave yoga classes through the Univeristy Service for Physical and Sports Activities of the Sorbonne university from 2011-2013. He also practices English boxing, CrossFit, running and swimming.

His classes aim to help students achieve harmony among the different aspects of their being: physical, emotional, mental and perceptive. This harmonization comes from a heightened sensitivity to energetic polarities in the body and an increasingly subtle understanding of their subtle aspects. The result is a deep and empirical understanding of yoga, embracing both ancient texts and his family’s traditions, which allows student to grow independent on their spiritual journey.

Classes with Piyush will help you with:

learning to relax in stressful situations

mastering your breath, the key to well-being

discovering the deep resources of your vital energy

dissolving blockages or samskaras that stifle your evolution

letting go and opening to the joy of the present moment
